Dr. Ricardo Espinoza
La Moille Community Unit School District #303

Dr. Ricardo Espinoza has 32 years of experience in all levels and positions in the field of education.  He has taught all grade levels and has been a director, assistant principal, principal, adjunct professor, professional development presenter and superintendent.  Also, Dr. Espinoza has a wealth of sales experience in many areas not limited to retail.  Many years ago, he started a professional development company: Espinoza Consultants Services Incorporated (ECSI).  Due to the demands of the superintendency, his company has been dormant.

Dr. Espinoza currently serves as a member of the La Moille Lion’s Club. In addition, he is a member of the Community Partners Against Substance Abuse (CPASA) Organization where he is spearheading a K-12 drug awareness curriculum endeavor.  In 2016 he partnered with area agencies to create the Illinois Workforce Opportunities Readiness Coalition (IWORC) for more cohesive sharing of information to help high school students to be better prepared to endeavor college, career or be trade ready.  Currently, in conjunction with the Project Based Learning (PBL) group of the La Moille High School, he has empowered the PBL group to create and sustain a multi-county Science Technology Engineering Art Agriculture Mathematics (STEAAM) Conference around Pi day each year.  In 2017-2018 he was nominated for the Life Changer Award.

Dr. Espinoza earned:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Education from the Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois
  • A Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston Clear Lake in Clear Lake, Texas
  • The Superintendent Specialist Certificate from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois
  • The Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Western Illinois University in Moline, Illinois

His published doctoral thesis titled “Hispanic superintendents in Illinois: Current Trends and Challenges” is considered seminal research in the field of minority leadership in Illinois. 

Dr. Espinoza currently resides in Mendota, Illinois with his wife of 29 years and his two children.
